Yes, I'm a gamer and I'm proud of it. Not a modern gamer, playing games on my laptop or tablet. No, I'm an old time gamer, the kind that plays around a table with other people, using my imagination instead of just going through preset scenarios over and over again. I'm actually interacting with my gaming friends, not sitting alone in a room. The Gamemaster is king, and he is constantly coming up with new scenarios to challenge us. A game can last a few hours, or it can stretch on several weeks if it's complex enough. I love each session, interacting with my friends, laughing over the humor interspersed though the game or cursing when a trap is sprung on us, all while eating the pizza we ordered in. The best part is just the actual human connection. I know that sooner or later our group will break up and we'll all drift off to other interests, but right now I love our Friday nights.
