-”...Take care everyone. And I’ll see you in the next video.” Just as the camera was turned off the door to the studio opened and Nathan walked in.
-”You done recording, babe?”
-”I am!” Billy smiled at Nathan as he walked up to him where he sat in front of the camera. “What do think of the makeup?” He could see how Nathan really inspected his handiwork. Then he nodded and smiled.
-”I like it. It looks really nice.” Billy smiled even more, got up from his chair and put his arms around Nathan’s neck.
-”I’m glad you like it, honey.”
-”Speaking of liking things. I have a surprise for you.” Billy gasped.
-”A birthday present?” He chuckled. “Is it you? Are you the surprise, Nathan?” Nathan laughed and then gave Billy a peck on the cheek.
-”Maybe tonight, babe. This is something different. Wait here and close your eyes.” Billy looked at him with eyes full of suspicion as Nathan walked over to the door. As he reached for the door handle Nathan looked over at Billy and smiled.
-”Don’t worry. I know you’ll like it. Now close your eyes.”
-”Okay, fine.” After he closed his eyes Billy put his tongue out in Nathan’s general direction. He could hear his boyfriend chuckle before opening the door. A few seconds later he heard the door again and some footsteps.
-”Hold out your arms.” Billy must have looked just as confused as he felt because moments later Nathan added. “I’m just gonna place it in your arms. It’s nothing horrible. Trust me, babe.” Billy smiled.
-”I do. I trust you.” And then he held out his arms. It didn’t take long until he could feel the weight of something on them. And...it was moving. “Nathan?” There was a hint of fear in his voice.
-”Hold it steady.” Billy could feel Nathan brushing against one of his arms, and then his boyfriend whispered in his ear. “Okay, now open your eyes.” Billy didn’t hesitate. He opened his eyes right away. In his arms was a tiny little white dog with some black spots. Billy gasped and looked at Nathan.
-”You...you got me a dog?” He couldn’t stop smiling. Nathan was also smiling.
-”Well. I got us a dog.” Billy looked at the dog again. It was a white Chinese Crested puppy. It was the most precious thing he’d ever seen. He could feel the tears well up in his eyes.
-”What’s...um...it’s name?” Nathan chuckled slightly.
-”Well, since it’s your birthday I thought it would be nice for you to name her.”
-”Then I’ll name her Precious.”
-”May I ask why?” Thinking his question might be taken the wrong way he quickly added. “Not that it’s not fitting. I’m just curious.” Billy looked at him, smiled, and kissed him tenderly.
-”Because it was the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw her.”
