Some of her best work can be seen in the engagement rings she sells. Ororo believes that those who have found the beauty of true love should have a ring that reflects said love. As a result, the majority of Ororo’s engagement rings start out as custom orders by hopeful grooms.

However, the angel xotl is also fully aware that sometimes people marry for the wrong reasons. Some so-called brides are very materialistic and only care about things like the size of the ring or the color/shape of their dress. They also make very unreasonable demands with their wedding party, family members, and even their guests! Ororo has facepalmed numerous times upon seeing such ludicrous behavior.

The phenomenon of bridezillas has aggravated Ororo so much that she has created her own special system to thwart bridezillas. Whenever Ororo sells an engagement ring, she dips the ring in a special potion. This potion is comprised of a combination of magic and the mucus that xotls are known to secrete. When Ororo makes this potion she uses the magic to change the properties of the toxins in her mucus so that no one dies after being wearing one of her rings for an extended period of time. Instead, the enchanted rings will change a woman’s appearance depending on the woman’s actions.

A rude, demanding woman that wears one of Ororo’s enchanted rings can end up with horrific changes in appearance; such changes are determined by the specific errant behavior of the woman. For example, one woman was punished for having a rude and sharp tongue by having her tongue transformed into a snake tongue, impeding the woman’s speech and making her hiss every few words. In another case, an engaged woman was being condescending towards one of her bridesmaids because of the bridesmaid’s weight. Well, that rude bride swelled up and turned purple like a plum; she became so rotund she could barely move and literally had to be rolled everywhere.

Ororo usually has a discussion with grooms-to-be once they realize the ring is the cause of these sudden issues during wedding planning. The xotl is willing to reverse the effects of her rings, but she insists on having a counseling session with the groom before deciding on the next course of action. During these sessions, Ororo asks the groom some questions about his fiancee. There have been instances where Ororo has bluntly told a prospective groom to not marry because the bride is being too selfish. Not every groom listens to her advice, but Ororo is always happy to take back a ring from a man who realizes he dodged a bullet. Of course, once a ring is returned the affected woman returns to normal a few weeks after the ring’s removal. One of Ororo’s most memorable ring stories was when a nostalgic mahar came to her shop to return a wedding ring. Now the mahar wasn’t alone; a storm kora had come with him. Ororo recalled that the nostalgic mahar had tears in his eyes as he came up to the counter.

“You…you were right,” the mahar said, “she really wasn’t the One for me.”

The storm kora was looking at the mahar with a concerned look on her face. She patted him on the back and said, “Don’t worry, it’ll be okay.”

Ororo took the ring back from the mahar without a word, but the xotl’s eyes showed sympathy toward the heartbroken mahar. The kora continued to gently rub the mahar’s back and whisper encouraging words. The xotl’s mood remained solemn as the mahar and kora walked towards the exit.

Several months later, Ororo was polishing her rings when she saw the nostalgic mahar walk in. The xotl’s eyes lit up upon seeing that the mahar’s face now carried a smile.

The mahar approached the counter and announced, “Um, yeah, I would like to buy a ring please?”

It turns out that the mahar had gotten engaged once again…to the storm kora that had come into the shop with him!

The kora and the mahar had been good friends since adolescence, and she had been one of the first pets to learn of the mahar’s first engagement. The storm kora had been filled with joy upon hearing about the upcoming nuptials and was dedicated to helping the mahar with the wedding preparations. However, as the months of wedding prep passed the storm kora noticed some rather self-centered behavior from the mahar’s fiancee. The kora and a few groomsman let the mahar know about their concerns. The mahar considered such concerns valid, but he believed that the bride’s behavior was simply due to wedding jitters. But more red flags began to appear. A bridesmaid quit in tears due to harsh remarks from the bride. The curse that the bride incurred from her engagement ring and Ororo’s assessment of the bride’s behavior. Eventually the bride’s demands concerning the wedding crossed a line that the mahar could not accept, and he ended the engagement.

The mahar had spent the next several months trying to recover from the breakup, and the storm kora had stood by his side in his time of need. Eventually both pets realized that they had some semblance of romantic feelings toward each other and decided to get married.

Ororo smiled as the mahar left with his new engagement ring. The interaction that she had seen between the storm kora and the nostalgic mahar indicated that they would be a good couple.

After an engagement ring is returned, Ororo puts the ring into a designated collection. Any items in this collection are sold to new prospective grooms for a much cheaper price. Ororo mainly sees her jewelry business as a side business so she doesn’t care about making the biggest profit from a sale. Besides, the xotl thinks prices for engagement rings are overly inflated anyway.
