In loving memory of Arnold

Arnold was not your ordinary Holland Lop bunny, in fact he was actually quite the opposite.

We didn't raise him all locked up in a cage, his cage was constantly open and he roamed around my student room and eventually my parent's living room freely. He hang around in my room, just on the floor or from time to time in a little basket on my desk when I was studying, occasionaly nibbling at a corner of my binder.

He began behaving like a mix between a rabbit and a dog. Whenever he was not interested in eating my homework, he ran around in the room, jumping on top of the couch, on your lap for scratches, or on his cage (he liked having a view of the room). He loved napping in a cardboard box and whenever he was done with napping he enjoyed destroying the rest of the box. He also was potty trained, okay well, for the most part anyway.

When I moved to spend a semester abroad he went to my parent's house. I already took him there over the weekend, on the way there he'd sit in a little basket in the train and being nosy towards the other passengers. At my parent's he could run freely in the garden, jumping around and sometimes trying to dig a hole, which he gave up quite quickly because he was not very succesful in it (he was actually more flattening the earth then really moving it elsewhere).

This one time one of the neighbour's balls went over the fence and they forgot to pick it up. Arnold discovered it and started playing with it. He pushed it around the yard and took it inside to play with it some more. He loved that thing.

He also had a deep love for the feet of his owners. He followed us around, circling around and jumping in front of our feet. It was not a question of if, but when we're going to trip over him Whenever we sat down he liked to pull at your socks for attention. If you playfully kicked him away he'd immediately came back for more.

Dear Nolle, you're immensely missed.
