Berries were ripe for eating, the water was crystal clear and cool, and spirits were high. There weren't many other Aipom or Ambipom in the area; it was more of a diverse place that was more of a temporary destination and not a permanent home for Pokemon. This particular Ambipom had been on his own for most of his life. He had a good mentor when he was younger, but they moved on a long time ago. These days, he was more of a guide to other Pokemon as well, offering help or advice if needed, or otherwise just being a kind soul to passing through Pokemon. He'd only been there for maybe a couple of years, but had met hundreds of Pokemon and helped many on their journey. He was drawn to the younger Pokemon that wandered through, and had even helped hatch an egg or two that were abandoned. He'd tried his best to stay away from the human Trainers, but hadn't always been successful. It was during one of these fights that he'd obtained an injury that couldn't simply be healed with potions or berries.
