Nariph is a small god of death, mushrooms and bacteria in Zohra's Garden. They're basically a gardener tbh but like with a 'god' status, which is really only a technicality as while Nariph is made of Zohra, she's not their mother it's more like they evolved from the lacking pragmatic and down to earth sensibilities (ha ha) of a god who wants to live in a garden but doesn't want to deal with anything dying. And they're kinda at her whim too as the only time Nariph isn't in the Garden is when Zohra gets in one of her occasional melancholies and wants to live in a world without death again for a bit, so she does them a friendly but usually sudden banishing and sends Nariph down to Subeta for a month or so for an impromptu holiday.

And for a while, the garden and it's inhabitants overflow in a wild state of frenzied, fecund chaos and nothing decays. And then when the Garden is too full and all the life no longer sparks joy, Zohra floods her world with tears and goes to hide in the Glade down on Subeta; while Nariph is summoned back to an ocean and undying hoards of insects and small animals clambering over each other and kinda swimming about angrily on top of each other and guess who gets the *fun* job of culling 90% of all life in The Garden and formulating a salt, plant and corpse digesting bacteria that will turn the stinking piles of death and salted earth back into fertile soil? Well, Dom-Yoh helps too but it's mainly Nariph and Tabitha.

When not composting, cultivating friendly bacterial cultures or burying the dead with Tabitha and Dom-yoh, Nariph get's a little too much enjoyment from being an impartial third party while talking to the ant colonies of The Garden, who when they're not talking about tunnels and various resource managements, colourfully complain at entertainingly great lengths about The Garden bees. And when they're around during Nariphs' rounds (because Nariph is mostly nocturnal, except for those long days of summer and whenever they're freshly back from Subeta), Nariph also rather enjoys talking to the bees, who when they're not busting moves about some fine honey and spitting dubstep, have some truly great bitching to do about the ants.
