Holly lived a nomadic lifestyle with their family in their early childhood, as part of a clan of wandering moon elves. The first few years of their life passed in simple pleasures, living mostly off the land, with brief forays into towns and cities for supplies. Their father taught them the flute. Their mother taught them the bow.

On the clan’s travels, they were set upon by a band of bandits in the night. Most of the clan and Holly’s family were slain while they were unarmed. Holly’s older sibling shielded them from an oncoming attack, and Holly fled in the chaos, alone in the night.

For the next few years, Holly wandered alone, surviving on pity and deception, performing simple busks and hunting small game on their own for sustenance, seeking the band of bandits who killed their family.

Caught in the midst of a harsh winter out in the wilds, Holly met the Prince of Frost, an archfey of great power. And Holly asked him for the power to deliver retribution to the bandits who killed their family.
