Klay Friend

Klaymen was brought to life by a scientist who wanted a companion to do some groundwork for him. He is built with old, but tougher material that cannot be destroyed by average means. He can survive the most hostile conditions and is often sent where people cannot go in order to work or retrieve something vital. He's quick and light on his feet too, despite looking like he'd be on the heavier side due to his older metal. His eyes are great cameras and his feet have sensors to let him know if he himself is walking into the path of danger. Much like NV, he is somewhat sentient but doesn't let anyone aside from the creator know this. He doesn't want to be targeted like his brother after all, who has far more talent than him, he thinks. The creator always reminds him that his work is equally as important but it never feels this way to him. Sure he can retrieve the bodies of the dead when something nuclear goes off. Sure he can survive freezing cold temperatures to assist people trapped in the snow. But it still feels empty to him...
One day his creator decided he was no longer of use and was promptly trashed. Unfortunately for the scientist, Klay still had consciousness and managed to drag himself out of the pile of scrap. His hind legs had been dismantled, half of his back had the wires ripped out and only one eye could see. Klay dragged himself as far as he could from that place and eventually came to a stop by yet another junkyard. He was tired and could feel his energy running low. He just knew this would be his graveyard... As Klay laid his head down to sleep someone had come by, no doubt attracted by the various whirring and wheezing that the little robo had been making. His hair was pulled back and the sound of his shoes crunching the dusty gravel was all he could hear before he closed his eye.
"Hey little guy. You look pretty beat up. Let's get you in my shop and fix ya up."

When Klay had woke he realized he was inside a metal building. As he observed, the figure he had saw before approached him. This man had fixed him. He could see through both eyes and did not feel so exhausted. His legs had been fixed and his body put back together again. This man was his savior and he intended to stay by his side. Klay picked up on his name as he heard the man's friends say it: Maximillion. Maxi. He learned about the others too and made sure to keep those memories safe so he could come to their aide should they need him too. These days he assists the other Mechanicals with their own projects though they send him to employ Maxi's work from time to time.
Maximillion

The kind gentleman who found Klaymen in a junkyard. The commotion the mechanical companion caused had attracted the human's attention and he was promptly snatched and fixed. Maxi seems to have a keen interest in repairing things, mostly vehicles but is enticed by the odd robot every now and again. Most days Klay stays by his side and helps him retrieve tools and the like in the various projects strewn about in his metal workshop. Maxi sometimes sends Klay alone to the junkyard but knows the poor mechanical wolf doesn't like traversing alone, almost as if he's afraid of whatever dismantled him is still out there. The mechanic will try to go with his friend if he's able. Otherwise the two live happily within Scarset City's confines.

NV
Klaymen's far more talented "brother". The scientist who made the pair clearly favored him over Klaymen as NV had the shinier and newer parts while Klaymen got stuck with the rusted old junk. He would watch as his brother got amazing new upgrades while he suffered with broken bits and even once tended to, he would just receive other junk bits. NV was always kind to him though, unlike other mechanicals. It didn't seem to matter how sleek and well-loved the silver wolf was, he still very much adored Klaymen and would even venture with him on tasks when the scientist allowed him. Klay wonders how much closer they could have been had that stupid scientist not interfered with their familial relationship.

Mandark
The scientist who created Klaymen and NV's life as well as various other mechanical creatures whom have since gone missing. Klay was one of the first he made and was clearly the favorite in the beginning. Unfortunately over time the scientist began using Klaymen as a resource hound, making the mechanical wolf traverse very dangerous territories in order to gather the pieces he needed for upgrading the others. Even when Klay was injured or missing parts, Mandark would simply pick apart old junk to fix him with. Klay was not the main focus like his other creations are. Even when Klay was retired the scientist ripped him to shreds. Not a single thank you to be had or even a peaceful sleep. Mandark's whereabouts are currently unknown. It's almost as if he disappeared off the face of Astrinet after Klaymen was rescued by Maxi.
