What lurks in the dark.

"Greetings..." A low growl is heard from the shadows as a dark and menacing figure appears.
"Do I dare come closer?" You ask yourself as the floor creaks beneath you. What is this creature that suddenly has you trembling with fear, your knees suddenly starting to buckle as you realize your entire body is frozen. You can't move, but this thing is approaching.
"I am Atheine." It hisses, it's mouth widening to show you it's teeth.Uh oh. Is this only a nightmare or are you about to meet your end? You want to speak, but you can't. You just stand there, closing your eyes, praying that you'll soon wake up safe and sound in your bed. Seconds pass that seem like hours, but nothing happens. Yet the creature is still there, saliva dripping from it's jaw. Is it dangerous? Or is there more than meets the eye? Can you really judge a book by it's cover?
