He couldn't do much besides sit and listen. His inner turmoils exposed themselves outwardly. It was to the point where he couldn't think anymore. Everything became numb around him. Everything he saw was a series of pictures -- a film -- moving slightly under the current. Although he was generally a happy person, everything seemed delayed. Everyone's responses were just a series of delayed reactions. He took pleasure in nothing. He was saddened by nothing. All the colours were flat -- no shading -- no depth -- no values. Just stagnance. Constance. A rut he couldn't seem to escape. But he wasn't sure of whether or not he legitimately wanted to get out of this rut. Since everything was the same value, nothing could hurt him. But was trading in happiness worth it? He couldn't decide whether or not he enjoyed flatlining. It was an art, of sorts. The kind that no one enjoys looking at. No concept. Utterly and unpleasantly dull.
