After extensive testing, we are confident when we say this one is not a naturally occurring cryptid. Upon being discovered near death on the beaches of East Veta, this creature was promptly secured for study but its condition declined rapidly. It appeared to be in an extremely emaciated state but any attempts of offering food of any kind were unsuccessful. In fact, when nourishment was offered directly via a feeding tube, we almost lost the creature due to a sudden and dangerous arrhythmia that presented within moments of administration.
It wasn't until a laboratory assistant left their research notes within reach of the creature that we finally discovered what sustained it. It devours any written literature voraciously from cover to cover. During consumption and for some time afterward, neurons in the frontal lobe are particularly active which seems to signify a comprehension of the contents of the book with no visual cues from the words printed inside.
Preliminary study of the anatomical features and behaviors of this one show notable similarities to those of the experiments produced by Dr. Euclid. A positive confirmation of this theory will most certainly result in euthanasia of the creature.
