"The terrorist Zedi Vadras and his giant pink pet mantis Telmun have yet again struck out today-" the screen squawked loudly, only to be cut off by the giant pink pet Mantis.

"-I bloody hate how they always get us back to front." Telmun spoke, mostly to herself over the TV. "You're literally a fetus, how on earth do they think a cute little boy like you could possibly be the ickle wickle cutie mastermind?" She fed him a nutrition cube and cooed, tickling his little pink tummy with the tip of her claw. "Who's a cute little mawstermind? Yes, you are!"

The news cast droned on as Zedi giggled and gnawed gummily on the strawberry nutrition cube. He honestly couldn't say he objected to Telmun's treatment of him, I mean yes, he was a several hundred year old reclone of Tempus Rex and deserved to be feared and respected, but it was nice to be a baby again. There was something so soul soothing about surrendering higher motor function and allowing oneself to be so vulnerable as to be nurtured and loved for a few years. Life-cyclers should really do it more often he mused. What's a few years wasted being a baby when the benefits were a home grown, fully integrated and stable nervous system.

Also, Telmun didn't exactly know he was a several hundred year old reclone of Tempus Rex and he was rather hoping to keep it that way for the time being as good parent were hard to come by, especially so when your sole function in reality once raised is to be a revolutionary terrorist for whichever side currently owns your soulcode.

Telmun extended a back leg and hit the off button on the screen and huffed. "I mean how would she like it if instead of announcing her as 'Ms Newscaster X.' we announced the teleprompter as hosting the news? Bet she'd have something to say about that." Zedi giggled up at her as she ranted, every few words she'd descend back into baby talk and ruffle her mandibles at him in such a way that he seemed to find hilarious.
