Nuq is a rather young anyu. She is sweet, cheerful, fun-loving, and more than a little lazy, a product of her upbringing as the only child of a wealthy family. Strictly speaking she doesn't need to live in Shinko's library, as she has a very cozy luxury apartment of her own. However, Nuq knows that her parents have the apartment staff keeping a close eye on her to make sure she doesn't do anything to embarrass them, so the anyu frequently spends days at a time at the library where she can cut loose and act a little immature and irresponsible with no one to observer her except the human ghost and other tenants. She compensates for this by using her not insignificant wealth to finance the continued upkeep of the old library, and since as a ghost Shinko is bound to the building and can't go out to make money to pay rent, she is more than willing to let Nuq crash there in exchange.
She rather wishes that Nuq wouldn't drink in the library, but that's a wish doomed to be eternally in vain. Her parents are both wine snobs, and introduced Nuq to the wonderful world of being a connoisseur just as soon as she was legally old enough. Unfortunately, this had the unintended side-effect of introducing their buttoned up, repressed daughter to getting drunk when she overestimated her tolerance, an experience Nuq found rather liberating. When her family isn't watching she samples all manner of hard liquors, and spends more time being the life of the nonexistent party than is really wise. But she can stop anytime she wants, don't nag Shinko, she doesn't have a problem.
