Too many to list, but five were memorable.Alaire, a new identity granted by a demon hunter named Leviticus in the 1500s.Willow, a lovely name granted by a girl of seven during the French Revolution.Cheshire, a pet name given by the bride of Alaire in the early 1800s. Sacha, a sentimental name given by a boy named Oscar during the early 1900s. And finally, Alaire’s current name, Nil, granted to him by Diaval in the modern era. His name he keeps as part of a contract. Saoirse, on the other hand, went by his old names for each death of the humans he made contracts with. Sentimental, yes, but how else could he remember the most important people in his long life? Saoirse is his driving force, his sister figure, his lifelong friend, even after the incident that drove them apart for a time.Saoirse wasn’t supposed to awaken, not when Alaire was a young boy of five, but she was unexpected, a monster that yowled and shrieked within his body, forcing him to become a wildcat demon. She made him feral, forced him to follow his inhuman instincts, and commited a terrible crime against his family. Saoirse’s remorse never ended, and it hit Alaire. But she knows that he isn’t at fault, even if it was his body and his claws that harmed his siblings, but he is deaf to her reasoning. She wants Alaire to find closure and move on at last, so he can be happier in the rest of his life.
