Grainy video clips taken from a phone camera popped up all over the internet 2 hours ago. The videos were of poor quality and the sound of teenagers laughing with their friends at pointing out the unusual sight dominated all other sounds. Uprooted sediment rose to the surface of the water with enough force to dislodge few rocks, causing a nasty case of sea foam. The foam spread and covered the entire area causing low visibility through it. That's when it got even stranger. The sea began to look like it was boiling; roaring bubbles and hot steam rose amidst the mass of foam. Another video was posted about 15 minutes later and it spread across social media sites like wildfire. It showed a large shadow swimming about under and around the mass and shots were taken of the people who were watching the scene all around. Onlookers’ reactions varied widely; vendors located in the store fronts began packing up their wares and closing down their shops, grown men cowered in fear, and the tourists were excited to see such a sight, blissfully, or unfortunately, unaware of the legends of old.Days later a massive storm was encroaching on the archipelago. Winds so violent they threatened to uproot trees and tear down houses. When the downpour began the sea level began to rise rapidly and terror shown on every face for they had never experienced a storm of such magnitude. Thought turned to the event that transpired only days prior. Already people were running to find safety, but in a swell like this there was nowhere to run, no higher grounds, nowhere for shelter. Wave after wave dragged crops and young children into the dark waters. Women running, screaming after their loss, towards the receding beach level were grabbed and thrown back by the men standing vigil on the waters edge. Almost nothing could be heard over the booming thunder overhead.
