I only battle with weapons I've won from opponents. I'm too full of myself to do otherwise.
Note: I started battling at tier 3, I use mod crystals that I get from defeating opponents, but do not add that info in here.
First set (given at beginners guide):
After beating buttwings 10 times, we added a few items to the set:
10 wins on Eclipse and Buttwing Bomber gave me 10 easy tokens, I used this to buy
While fighting Aboxalypse my rainbow star rod broke forever, so I replaced it with
that I won from Ecplise in the meantime. I'll use this until I win another constant.
Defeating Aboxalypse 5 times gave me
Which I used to get 10 wins on Pock, Saper and Riscors, Technicant, and Willowisp. These wins netted me 13 easy tokens which I used to purchase
Killing Willowisp gave me a few Light Battle Wands. So I added one to the set as well. The updated set after battling all basic easy challengers is:
I used that set to finish off the secret easy challengers. Angry Angry Arnold, Beekeeper Blake, Coeli, Ghost Hunter Blake, Jeremy, and Phungis.

On the way to 200 Willowisp kills I got 50 easy tokens which I used to buy crude components

I beat a handful of medium challengers to get 10 medium tokens which I used to get a stronger healer, in doing so I picked up a better T3 weapon from Vulty. Current set is:
Needed a healer to get through 200 wins on PSR, Willowisp, and Eclipse so I beat Big Banner 5 times to get
After tedious 200 wins on each of those challengers I finally got my first scroll. New set looks like this.
Finishing off all medium opponents gave me enough tokens to buy
Beat Daemon 5x to add another (awful) scroll. And beat the gingerbread house to add a better weapon. Current set
Scrambled through hard opponents to get 10 hard tokens and bought
Then beat Pylot 5x to add
which I transformed into

Went through various hard challengers and earned 35 hard tokens to purchase

Went through a handful of hard opponents to get 50 hard tokens which I used to get a HUGE upgrade
I also beat Mother Mallarchy 5 times to get
which boosts 25 strength each use.
I then beat Osylae the Amazonian Montre, Lizard Minion, and Manticat 100 tome to get their tattered scroll pieces. After combining them I got

Began taking over Hard and Very Hard opponents on Battle Quests because I need a ton of tokens.
After a couple weeks of Battle Quests and grinding Hard opponents I got 75 Hard tokens to purchase:
This will increase the freeze rate of Malevolent Grenade.

I am approaching the point where I will need to have alternate weapons in addition to my main set. From this point on there will be an “alternates” section.

Beat Cursed Effigy 5 times (during fireside) to add
The 4% heal will eventually be better than the strict 40hp heal from lights of sprites
After a couple months of battle quests I earned 65 Very Hard tokens which I used to purchase
This has higher average damage than my current bomb, so I’m going to replace it in my main set.

This is exactly the constant healer I needed to get in order to progress through some of the harder challengers. Battling without a sizeable heal is AWFUL!

After nearly 250 battles, (240 losses and 2 ties) I finally beat The Beanstalk 5 times and got an upgraded healing weapon
This is going to be huge moving forward. New set:

This will stay in the alternates set for a heavy dark damage dealing opponent.
Beat Sarkei 5 times to get
This is a solid fire defense alternate. This is also a good time to clean up the alternates because most of them are useless at this point. Additional important note, I have purchased everything I can use from the Easy-Hard sections of the battle shop, these tokens will now be used to purchase the stat boosters from the east section. Since I’ve gotten the tokens from battle, those boosters are fair game. (All amulets and tomes will remain in the Loots Stuff gallery and not be used, however.)

After nearly a year of grinding BQs and chipping away at Very Hard opponents I got 210 Very Hard Tokens which I used to buy:
With no earnable access to a Phoenix Quill these is the best OPB healer I have access to. This will be a main staple in the set for the rest of my battle career.

Beat Terrafirma 5 times to get:
It isn’t crazy useful right now, but in the future after scaling it’ll be a solid weapon. This will sit in the alternates for now. Additionally, beat Filantous 5 times to get:
Unlike the hammer from Terrafirma, this is an immediately useful dark blocker. As it scales it will become increasingly useful. Great staple for the alternates.

Beat Slaughtersaurus 5 times to get:
This is another milestone upgrade. The heavy block of key icons will be a huge advantage pushing for key weapon drops.

Beat Gelatin Golem 15 times to get
Which is such a solid upgrade from gorgun. More damage, curse, and 4 mod slots.
I grinded out a huge 2500 wins against Mini Gelatin to get
This is going to be a set/alternate staple for a long time. Huge pick up!!

Defeated Vile Carrier 5 times to get
This is a solid upgrade from the beanstalk whip and a really good constant healer that will make its way into my main set. Also defeated Time Forgotten Armor 5 times to get
Chucking this into the alternates for when I need to squeeze out a win or two on a difficult opponent.
Also, defeated Gelatin Golem 175 times to get
Another weapon for the alternates, solid use case for primary light blocker with a small ice/earth block combo

Turned in 210 Very Hard tokens to get a bomb with a 250 strength stat boost
Beat Batista 5 times to get
This does not have as high of a freeze rate as Malevolent Grenade + Defensive Bandana combo, but the fact that it is a chance freezer without the extra weapon slot for the combo is why I will be pivoting to this as my new chain freezer.
Went on a streak to grind out some upgraded weapons in the Extremely Hard difficulty, once the first domino fell the newer weapons helped beat more opponents.
