Happy birthday to me!
Dedicated to my best childhood friend, Sina the plushie dog.
When my grandpa took my sister and me to a Christmas market, he let both of us chose one thing we really want. There were so many things though! Glowing things, sparkling things, jingling things, all the colors and smells you could imagine! Every booth had something unique, something that caught my eye - or my nose! My sister chose to get a bag of candied nuts, but I just couldn't seem to decide. I was never into candies that much, even as a kid, or gingerbread for that matter. None of the treats were after my taste, even though I loved the smell!
But then I saw her, and fell in love. A little beige plushie dog with a black nose and floppy ears. Material that felt just like a fluffy towel, and a soft, huggable body. She was more expensive than a bag of candied nuts of course, so there was a little discussion, but in the end maybe my grandpa saw how much I really wanted that little dog, and I got to put her in a little back and take her with me. In the car on the way home I decided to name her Sina. I'm not quite sure why that name came to me, but it just fit her.
From that night on, Sina slept in my bed every night, in the crook of my arm, and I slept much better than just hugging my blanket. I slept with this little stuffed dog much longer than I'd actually like to admit. She gave me comfort and security. Thank you Sina for being my childhood friend, and guarding my dreams ♥
