So raise your glass if you are wrong

My first memory of P!nk is watching the music video for Get the Party Started on MTV after school back in the early 00’s. I liked her unapologetic style from the get go and I’ve loved her music ever since.
As with several of the other musical tribute pets I have, this is another one where I really like a lot of the songs that have been produced. So, there’s going to be an extensive list of honorable mentions. Without further ado, here is that list: Hustle, Walk Me Home, My Attic, 90 Days, Hurts 2B Human, Happy, We Could Have It All, Revenge, Whatever You Want, Where We Go, For Now, Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken, I Am Here, Blow Me (One Last Kiss), Try, F**kin’ Perfect, Don’t Let Me Get Me, True Love, How Come You’re Not Here, Slut Like You, The Truth About Love, Beam Me Up, Walk of Shame, Here Comes the Weekend, So What, Run, Good Old Days, I Don’t Believe You, Sober, Please Don’t Leave Me, Stupid Girls, Who Knew, U + Ur Hand, Leave Me Alone (I’m Lonely), The One That Got Away, Fingers, Centerfold, I Have Seen the Rain and Trouble. All of these are songs that I will happily listen to anytime, anywhere. But there’s only room for ten songs on my ranked list and these just don’t make that cut, despite how much I like them.
I also want to mention that I also really like the song she did with Keith Urban, One Too Many, but as that one is technically his song I didn’t want to include it in the list of honorable mentions.

In all the right ways

Now for my ten favorite songs by this wonderful artist.
In tenth place we have Are We All We Are. This is a very typical P!nk song for me, and that’s definitely a good thing for me. It’s unapologetic and rocky. I love the sound of it and like with many of the songs that are on my top ten it has great lyrics.
In ninth place I have to put Just Like A Pill. This is one that I’ve loved ever since I heard it the first time. Again we have great lyrics, but also a sound that’s infectious. And I love the build-up in it.
Next up we have Respect. This is probably the most unapologetic song on this list. I love how she wants women to take back the power when it comes to getting what they want, and getting to decide what to do with their bodies.
In seventh place we have Just Give Me A Reason that she did with Nate Ruess. It’s a beautiful and sad ballad that just feels like a perfect example of something that many couples experience but can’t put into words.
Sixth place for me goes to Secrets. Now this one definitely competes with Respect when it comes to being the most unapologetic. And I love the lyrics because they are so true and accurate. And then the sound of this song is so good, I can have it on repeat for a long time without getting tired of it. Also, I love the music video. Which is not a common thing for me.

All my underdogs

Onto the top five of the list. And first we have Beautiful Trauma. Another one with great lyrics and a great sound. And I have to say that the music video is pretty darn fun to watch. Channing Tatum in a dress was definitely not what I was expecting to see the first time I watched it. But the lyrics are definitely the biggest reason for this song ending up this high on my list.
In fourth place I have to put What About Us. This song really opened up my eyes for P!nk again in recent years. All of her new material has incredible lyrics that deserve to be paid attention to. And this one is no different. P!nk is definitely showing everyone that she’s still got a lot left to give us. And that she wants to help give people a voice that otherwise are all too silent.
In third place we have another one of her new songs, Can We Pretend. We have a combination of the music and the lyrics here that makes it stand out to me. The music ever so slightly trumps the lyrics for me though. The way that the music really comes to life after the chorus reminds me of Avicii and that will always be a good thing for me.
Okay, so in second place for me is Dear Mr. President. This one is pure lyrics. It’s political and I 100% agree with everything in it. Always have, and probably always will. I always sing along to it when it plays on my playlist.
And now we’ve reached the number one song for me when it comes to all of the wonderful songs that P!nk has released over the years. And this top spot goes to Raise Your Glass. This for me is the quintessential P!nk song. To me it’s like her anthem. It perfectly captures everything her music has always been about. Dare to be yourself and never apologize for being different. Embrace what makes you different and let it make you stronger. You’re perfect the way you are.

We will never be never be, anything but loud

As someone that has never really fit the norm very well and has been bullied for many years of my life P!nk’s music speaks to me on a different level than many of the other artists or groups that I love. With her music it gets more personal as she has always gone her own way and never apologized for being different. Now more than ever she stands up for people whose voices otherwise remain silent. I will always have a deep respect for P!nk and the material she produces. And she will always have a special place in my heart.
I look forward to many more songs in the future from this badass woman ♥️
