Hi,

Thanks for being so patient. Princess' labwork is clear, so she's now ready to go. You can come in on Sunday to adopt her! Make sure you're there at 10am, the staff will be expecting you.

You'll get to spend half an hour with her to make sure she's the perfect cat for you. I'm sorry I won't be there as I'm on leave, but I hope everything goes well, that she's the perfect cat for you and that she settles in well!

PS. Please promise me she's getting a new name!

♥ Adopted March 1st, 2020 ♥

Hi, I'm Olivia!

About Me

I'm a young, female, grey DSH and I was adopted at (approximately!) a year old. I am (unfortunately) a Feline Herpesvirus carrier. I have a food allergy - to chicken - so I'm on an all-fish diet. I have a bald patch behind my right elbow, and a desexing tattoo and two small notches in my left ear. I am a friendly, easy-going, and very tolerant cat.

Our Story

I adopted Olivia on March 1st, 2020, after meeting her through my clinic the week prior. I have never been a cat person (despite, and because of my job as a veterinary nurse) and never envisioned that I'd ever own one. I'd been so scarred by so many experiences I've had in clinic, as cats don't make good patients! But I had love and a home to give, and I knew a cat would be the perfect pet.

Olivia was underweight with a poor coat, suffering from a food allergy, and battling feline herpesvirus when she was adopted.

Olivia settled immediately into the little apartment that I share with my boyfriend. She is a funny, affectionate, chatty cat & is amazingly tolerant of everything most cats hate (loud noises, trips to the vet, guests in the house and changes in routine, to name a few). I was very particular about the kind of cat I wanted, and the relaxed, confident way she handled the most stressful of places (my clinic) endeared me to her. She is also good for needles, examinations, medications and nail clips (all of which I can do to her by myself!)

She was unwell when I brought her home; an outbreak of Feline Herpesvirus affected many of the shelter cats in our clinic, including Olivia. She was so unwell she stopped eating (she was underweight to begin with, at only 3kg!), and had to be hospitalised. With amazing care from my team, she became well again. She has gained 800g in my care and is now at a perfect body weight.

Olivia is also clicker trained & knows a range of tricks including: sit, beg, high five, spin, pick up alternate paws in cue with each hand, and jump through an arm-hoop. You can see her tricks & keep up with her on her instagram!

I'm still learning to like cats, but even if I don't like all of them, at least I love this one. ♥

This lovely piece has also been printed as a wooden keychain!
