Buddy

Buddy is one of few Guardian's that once spewed forth from the churning clouds of Solaris, decided to stay within the upper realm. He does not say why he decided to stay though is visited by a dear friend, Kai, every so often to give him an update on his human. His old owner who blames herself for his demise. Buddy can feel her remorse for not being there as often as she wanted to be. Or even needed to be. He can feel the heavy guilt weighing on her shoulders as she tries to live life day to day. He never has and never will blame her for his demise. He was getting on up in years and had various underlying issues that he knew his dearest mother could never afford to take care of as she struggled to help herself. He had lived such an eventful life prior to moving in with Aika, as her late grandmother had specifically asked her to take him in. Of course he had been a gift to the elder as a younger cat, a companion to the frail and aging lady. A gift Aika herself had bestowed upon the woman. Buddy felt it was fitting that he made his resting place within her home and was comforted by the sound of her voice as she greeted him one last time. He knew work took it's toll and she would briefly say hello and pet him. His soft meows brought a smile to her face though she did not know it would be the last time she would hear him speak. He even meowed in playful protest for a bath after she told him that he needed one! All good things must come to an end. He does not blame her. Not now. Not ever.
Sometimes he even visits back home though does not make himself known. Quietly, he follows, much like he did when he was on the mortal plane, though there is no fear of tripping her anymore. No fear of him escaping into the scary real world. He only hopes that she will find inner peace of her own among the turmoil of her broken soul.
