It all started off innocently enough with a sprouted pumpkin seed, but it soon became apparent that something had gone terribly awry.
The gnarly seedling shot up quickly above the others, withering the soil beneath. Despite the many varied attempts to remedy the drying ground, all proved futile and the hunger of the creeper persisted.
Now much of pumpkins day is consumed by feeding her !lick - for fear of endangering the welfare of her other well primped gourds.
Let this be a lesson to all aspiring horticulturists: Keep your patches in order, for once dug, some pits are bottomless.
