~The Gardener~

Dahlia hums to herself quietly, slowly chewing her cud, as she fiddles with various pots and plant cuttings. The little terrarium hanging from around her neck gently sways from side to side as she bustles around her garden. Dahlia loved nothing more than losing herself in her garden and her plants. Time slowed and the world faded away. She made her own little world - bordered with the stone fence overgrown with moss and ivy, her garden bustled with life of all kinds. Little bugs, plants and flowers of all kinds, cheerful birds, and little scurrying animals that kept her company. Nestled in one corner of the garden was a small wooden greenhouse, filled with pots and shovels and seeds. In the middle of the garden were rows upon rows of brightly coloured flowers, and all around the edge were all kinds of ornamental and fruit trees.

With a smile, Dahlia admired her newest potted plant baby and set it on a warm window shelf in the greenhouse. Ambling outside into the garden, she made her way to her favourite grassy patch surrounded by sunflowers. She folded her legs beneath her and settled onto the sun-warmed grass with a contented sigh. She loved to sit here in the sun on the soft ground, nestled in by the cheerful sunflowers. A friendly butterfly flitted over and settled on one of her horns, and a curious little bumblebee visited each of the sunflowers. Dahlia’s eyes began to droop as she listened to the small buzzing of the bees, the chirping of the birdies, the whisper of the wind in the trees. Perhaps she would take just a short nap…
