Story:
When people first started seeing 'The Beast Looming in the Sky' all those years ago, they were filled with horror. On clear days, you couldn't see her, as she moved with the clouds, following storms mostly. When there were clouds covering the sky, the large silhouette of a monstrous form could be seen floating and swimming among the clouds. It was as large as a whale, if not larger still. She rarely ever revealed herself, only ever playing among the clouds, keeping hidden, until a massive storm would roll in. Only when the sky grew black, and heavy sheets of rain fell and she could become a bit more concealed, would she come down below the clouds.

She comes down, bringing her tiny blob of a friend with her. So small, one would wonder how she could ever even keep track of him. As the rain pours and the lightning flashes, she would linger just below the clouds, floating, and waiting. Looming over wherever she now inhabited, for the time. Her blobby friend would slowly start growing in size during the course of the storm. Growing, expanding, and getting bigger and bigger. It would take until the storm ended for him to finish, and he would become nearly the same size as The Beast.

And then, the storm would be over. The rains would stop or slow, and The Beast Looming in the Sky would return to her home just above the clouds, taking her now bloated friend with her. Even though few still saw her during the storm...those that did would swear it wasn't as terrifying as it might seem...it felt like a true blessing. Their lives would always change drastically for the better, yet they never understood why. Only The Beast and her friend knew....knew their purpose in the world.

The world is so full of darkness. Evil, hate, depression, loneliness, agony...so many horrible, black emotions that terrorize humanity on a regular basis. If the humans were left to deal on their own, surely they would succumb to horrible fates. It's the fate of The Beast and her friend, however, to aid them. Once they return home to above the clouds, after the blob has sucked up as much of the dark, evil, blackness of the world below, enough to expand himself to a horrific size...that is when The Beast feeds. She uses her teeth to gently pop open a small hole on her friend...it doesn't hurt him, and he heals instantly afterwards. (He is made of a moving, shifting goo after all!) But once that hole is open, the darkness inside is released in a forced, pressurized spurt of air, like a popped balloon. The Beast inhales it, feeding on all the darkness of the world. She is created in such a way that she isn't harmed by the process, it fills her belly...the only side effect is the change in her scales. She once used to be a vivid, lively green. Now she's shades of black and grey, much like the darkness she takes in, but it doesn't bother her.

Her friend is often referred to, by humans, as Evil Goop. They originally thought it was because he was of evil origin, but The Beast knows better. He is called so, because of his ability to take in evil, and not have his body badly damaged for it. Soon her friend resumes his original size, and is drained of all the darkness. He restores his body back to normal, and he and his friend, The Beast Looming in the Sky (whose name shortened to Loom over the years) go back to playing among the clouds. They play, and the world below them is relieved from their torment for a time. Sadly, with humans, there's always more darkness to be found. There will always be enough to fill the belly of The Beast. But she will do everything in her power to restore peace and happiness for as long as she possibly can.

So she and her little friend live their life, playing, eating, moving from place to place. Always Looming or Lurking, waiting for the next storm to allow them to go down below and aid more of humanity.

She truly is a beast of peace, only wanting to help, despite her ferocious appearance. And thanks to her, peace became possible once again for humans, whenever she was nearby. So the next time you see a large beast looming above the clouds, don't be afraid. Her only desire is to protect humans from the darkness they face every day. Trust in her, and she can save you. If only for a day.

She has been rumored to love balloons, as they soar up beyond her home in the clouds, where she can marvel at their beautiful shapes and colors, and play with them all day!

Bio:
Loom was adopted from the pound when I needed a new zapper pet! She was a Common Kumos, changed to a Cherry Kumos by me since I had a spare potion and she needed to wait for me to finish using the human zapper first. Might as well be a fun color in the meantime! She was also given a Gender Berry, as she had no gender, and I wanted her to have one. (I struggle to correctly refer to pets with none! :X)

I already quite like Loom! Loom turned into a Field Qrykee...the first Qrykee I ever had, and it's a species I've wanted to try out having for a while now. I decided to stop her adventures with the zapper, change her into a Storm Qrykee, and just kind of enjoy her as is for a while. As I figured, I started getting attached...and now I'm feeling inspired by her new look. I think we're keeping it!
