Little Lost Girl

My mother once told me that the life of a Summoner was tied to that of their signature Eidolon. That if something terrible were to happen to their Eidolon, they, too, would die. I was just a little girl back then. Just a silly little girl, with not a care in the world. My own magic wasn't very strong. I knew some black magic and a couple of white magic spells. I only knew how to summon Chocobo - again; cute, mostly harmless.

Then the men from Baron came.

My mother could tell something was wrong. Someone was quickly making their way to our quiet, peaceful mountain village of Mist. She told me to go home, go somewhere safe... then she began to summon the Mist Dragon: her personal Eidolon. I pretended to make my way home, but I ducked into an alleyway to watch her. After a short while, the Mist Dragon disappeared into the caves near the entrance to our village. That's when everything fell apart.
My mother collapsed on the ground as everything around me burned. Shops, people's homes... all engulfed in horrifying flames. My mother lay on the ground, just a short distance away. She didn't move. I ran to her, begged for her to wake up, to say something, anything. But she didn't. She was dead.
Two men clad in dark armor approached, seemingly confused by what was happening around us. I ran to one of them, tears streaming down my face. The man pulled away from me, and I overheard the two of them talk. "...we killed the Dragon."
These two men. They killed her. They killed her Eidolon, the Mist Dragon. They killed my mother. An intense rage built up inside me, hotter than the flames which swallowed my whole world. They approached me again, and I lost all control. The creature I summoned was no cute little Chocobo. It was a horrifying earth giant - Titan. In one fell swoop, Titan caused a massive earthquake - injuring the men, but also hurting me, as I couldn't control the Eidolon. I didn't care, though. They killed her, and now they needed to die.
