Zap, the Storm Born by Accident

Most pets visit the Pet Zapper only once or once in a while.
Some are lucky.
Some are not.
But every pet leaves with a different story.

Zap's story was never supposed to exist.

Each Pets visit was filled with hope.
Perhaps this time an Experiment would appear.
Perhaps this time fate would choose something extraordinary.

Again and again the machine crackled with energy.
Again and again bolts of lightning danced across its metal frame.
Again and again Zap emerged... different, yet never quite what was expected.

What no one realized was that the Zapper never truly erased its magic.
A tiny spark remained behind each time.
Invisible.
Forgotten.
Waiting.

Years passed, and those countless sparks gathered deep within the ancient machine until one final pull of the lever pushed it beyond its limits.

The laboratory shook.
Lightning burst through every wire.
Thunder echoed across Subeta.
For one impossible moment, the sky itself seemed connected to the Pet Zapper.

When the light finally faded, the machine stood silent.

The Experiment everyone had hoped for never appeared.

Instead, a small flickering Blob blinked curiously from the center of the room.
Tiny bolts of electricity skipped across his body with every cheerful bounce.
He seemed like a little thundery Cloud.

The scientists stared in disbelief.
The Pet Zapper had not created an Experiment.
It had created its own child!

He named him Zap.

Unlike the storms that frighten travelers, Zap adores them.
He races through rainclouds, chasing flashes of lightning as though they were old friends playing hide-and-seek.
Every clap of thunder makes him laugh, sending bright sparks dancing around him like tiny stars.

Even today, old engineers claim that whenever the Pet Zapper suddenly crackles for no reason at all, Zap cannot be far away.
He still sneaks back into the laboratory from time to time, happily absorbing loose sparks before bouncing off back into the next thunderstorm.

And should the machine ever release a single unexpected flash without anyone touching its lever...

Don't worry.
It is probably just Zap saying hello to the place where his adventure first began.
