Pupcake's Story

Come back later, I'm a work in progress. I haven't always been a Hydrus Manchu, my parents were both common. You see, us Manchus LOVE legends, and our favorite one is the legend of Moana. It was my mother's favorite, and from the moment she saw me, she knew Moana was the perfect name for me. I have always been adventurous, everyday, I would explore more and more of the island that I used to live on. But most of all, I loved the beach. I loved to collect seashells, I loved relaxing in the sun. One day, a bunch of sticks that managed to form something similar to a raft washed up on the shore. To me it looked like a toy, so I played with it all day, not thinking about what might happen when the tide came back in. Before I knew what was happening, I had been swept out to sea! All I could do was watch the island grow smaller and smaller as I drifted farther and farther out. A day passed, and there was no longer any land in sight. I would catch a few fish to eat sometimes, although it was not my ideal diet. I was very thirsty, but I could not drink ocean water. A week passed, and I had become very weak. But then, a sea witch named merana gave me a magical potion that turned me into a hydrus manchu! Now I could speak with ocean animals and understand them, I could eat the same food as them, I could swim, I could even breathe underwater and drink some from the ocean. Eventually, I came across a small island that was in ruins. The only remaining life was a family of chickens. I decided that small island would be a great place to spend the night. By this time it had been almost two months since I had last seen the island I loved so much, so it became my quest to find a way back home. When morning came, one of the chickens tried to follow me. "Sorry little guy, but I'm not sure a raft would be the safest place for a chicken." I said. But the chicken was determined to come with me. No matter how many times I tried to put him off of my raft, he just kept jumping back on. "Okay, I guess you can come." I sighed. So for a week, the chicken and I traveled across the sea. "Since it looks like we are a team, you deserve a name little guy." I said. "How about HeiHei, like the chicken from the legend." I suggested. The chicken lifted his head, and crowed.
