Alexis

You've been gone longer, then when I had you in my life. It's hard to think about that.

I miss you, and still think about you always. A certain song comes on, or a TV show. The silliest things remind me of you.

I have your photo on my wall, it's from our high school graduation. You're smiling so big, and throwing peace signs. We basically wore the same dress lol

We made stupid YouTube videos and I still have them up, including us playing in the snow with the dog.

Some of my favourite memories are the simple ones, us ditching gym class to listen to music on your iPod, sharing earbuds. Terri Clark, Carrie Underwood, and Loreena McKennitt.

You were probably also the reason I passed English, always willing to help when I asked how to spell a word.

Almost every lunch we would walk to Carlos, our other friends joining us, laughing and making stupid jokes.

Having sleepovers at each other's houses, in the living room of my place on the pullout couch. Playing video games, eating snacks, telling jokes.

I've had a few dreams about you since you left, sometimes you're just visiting me, other times they're more confusing or silly.

There's been moments when I have sworn I saw you in a crowd. I know it's not you, but for a brief moment you are.

I miss you, I can't help but think about who you would be now, how many adventures you would have gone on. Holidays we would have taken together. The people I couldn't introduce you to. I think you would have liked the friends I made now.

I miss you Alexis, you truly weren't just my best friend, but like a sister. I hope you're safe, and at peace now. Finally free to be who you are. Love you forever.
