Damon Jaeger was born in Germany in 1903 to a brewer and his wife. He was a quiet, introverted child who barely spoke to anyone but his older sister Zelda. When he was thirteen, his entire family immigrated to the United States. In this new environment, Damon's personality changed for the worse. The neighborhood they moved into was overcrowded and loud, which made him angry and violent.

Damon began to be more outgoing and eventually made friends through both a silver tongue and fear. In 1920, the onset of Prohibition ruined his family financially, and a young Damon began working with his neighborhood friends to sell his father's alcohol illegally. At the same time, his sister Zelda had fallen in love with a rich neighbor boy. Damon was quickly adopted into the family when the two wed and made sure they would never want for anything.

One night when he, his sister, and brother-in-law were holding a party, Damon found an old picture of a young man hidden in a book in the household. When he inquired about it to his brother-in-law, he was informed that it was a man named Isidore who used to live alone in the house. Damon pretended he was going to put the photo back, but instead pocketed it that night.

During Prohibition, as a bootlegger himself, he was integrated into the local Mafia, though only as an associate, and quickly began to make a name for himself. He kept the photo of Isidore close to him at all times and began to become obsessed with it. Before any missions, he would kiss the picture for luck and quickly stow it away before anyone could see. A soldier who was with him during a run caught him sleeping with the photo in his arms and reported his suspicions of homosexuality to their caporegime. On May 1, 1928, Damon Jaeger was gunned down by his closest friends in his home neighborhood speakeasy. His body was never found.
