The Veiled World
Behind a curtain of unknown power is a gathering of people living in a serene sense of peace. The gathering lives in a series of building all connected by bridges and hallways, giving a sense that everyone lives together and that no one is ever alone. Neighbors becomes like family, and gossip spreads faster than wild fire through the corridors. Not a secret can lurk in the shadows because as soon as the secret is born there is someone behind them who witnessed everything. A strong pride and loyalty fills the inhabitants, and there has to be. If they didn't get along it would most likely result in full scale riots and murders.
As great as the community is, in scale and triumph, their world is shrouded in mystery and barely anyone outside the veil knows it exists.They can see the world, the world cannot see them. They can cross over anytime they so wish, but those on the other side must be invited in. And the event of someone being invited in is insanely rare. Though, the event of someone wanting to leave was just as rare.

The main population of the Veiled world is artists; Painters, dancers, sword fighters, singers, seamstresses, fabric dyers, etc. Anything and everything that could be crafted, there was someone who could make it. Each person was proud of their craft and proud of their home, seeking no reason to leave their haven of the arts.
In their world they could be free to pursue anything and were welcomed to share their talents with others who would appreciate whatever talent a person possessed. From the most gorgeous actress singing in an opera to a simple girl serving beverages to people in the audience.

His art is crude, he seems to have no aspiration to create 'true' works of art, he likes to sneak out and into the other world, he admires a man who draws horrific gruesome images and even rejected his name to take on that of his hero.
