Legacy Name: Wings

As a mortal, Wings made her home on the wrong side of the tracks at a young age. Stealing, vandalism, promiscuity-her existence was a classic tale of a life covered in the grime of surviving in the streets. She ran with a small group of trouble makers, dodging the law and brushing sides with danger constantly.

It wasn’t long before it came to Heaven’s attention that Wings was in very serious trouble. She had been en route early in life to enter Heaven upon death, but her actions had instead made her the perfect candidate for Hell. Not wanting to lose a soul, Heaven sent Encourage to bring her back to the path of light, for Wings had a certain spark in her they knew didn’t come along every day. At first, Wings didn’t want to hear any of it. She rebelled against Encourage’s efforts, trying to get him off her case. It took some persuading and just a pinch of Heaven Magic to get her to glimpse her future and see what would become of her actions. Effectively shocking her, Wings realized the life she was leading would bring her nowhere. It was an epiphany, as they say, that led her to change her ways, and just in the nick of time, for it was not long after that Wings died of an accident.

When she entered Heaven, all was not 100% fine and dandy. After an unscrupulous life, she needed to prove herself. She was taken under Aelita and the rest of Angelic Unit Alpha’s wings, and tasked with the mission to help out pets as Encourage had done with her. Wings was to be assigned to pets that were straying off the path of light into darkness, with the mission of offering them guidance.

It was difficult at first, but after her first successful mission, Wings grew more confident with her assignments, and slowly realized that helping others climb out of the hole she herself climbed out of made the afterlife worthwhile.

It wasn’t long before she became a full-fledged member of Angelic Unit Alpha, reporting to Aelita and continuing to steer pets back onto the path of light when intervention was needed. “You’ve finally earned your wings” still happily rings in her ears whenever she reflects on her existence or hears herself called Wings, a name that would have been a sarcastic joke during her mortal days.

Currently, apart from her regular task of putting pets back on the right path, Wings is mentor to Nakara, an angel-in-training. Although Nakara is a source of frustration for Wings at times, the two always seem to manage in the end. Nakara has come far with Wings’ help, although there is still much left for the silly young Angel to learn.
