Phineas is derived from a Hebrew name meaning oracle.
Phineas Asparagus was a normal tutani who loved to bask in the Delphi sun, hang out with his other normal tutani friends, and eat tutani food. Life changed for this normal tutani one fateful day...
Phineas was enjoying a delightful afternoon swim with his best friend Wamu in his favorite spot, an estuary between Delphi and a little seaside village just northeast of Centropolis. Laughing and living is what these two tutanis do best. Little did they know that a textile factory had decided to dump their sewage waste into Phineas's water sanctuary. As the sun began to set, the tide dropped dangerously low. The the two tutanis were now trapped. With the radioactive sewage quickly encroaching upon them and help no where to be seen for miles, the two made a last ditch effort to save themselves. With all his might and effort, Phineas hoisted his large and in charge friend and flung him across the embankment. Unfortunately, Phineas was left to suffer the effects of the radioactive waste and is what he is today.
Now, Phineas travels the Subetan oceans to speak against environmental degradation due to radionuclides and hydrocarbons from sewage input. Never again will he allow such a fate that he suffered befall another innocent! Phineas is an avid writer for the magazine "T.A.R.D - Tutanis Are Rapidly Dying". He is also a vegetarian.
After a rather violent protest that involved a trampled chelon (he made it out ok), Phineas is laying low with Ayden, Caspian, and Emi until it is safe to go out in public again.
