a Wendigo is the Native American embodiment of greed, gluttony and excess and known for being a cannibal spirit. Any person is at risk for turning into a Wendigo. Either you are infected or possessed. Infected Wendigo come into being when another Wendigo touch them. All Wendigo cannot touch another non-Wendigo; they would turn them. Experienced Wendigo can possess humans briefly and turn them into Wendigo if the possessed human eats another human. Even after leaving the body, the Wendigo's effect still stands on the once-possessed human.
Wendigo are immortal beings and have a long lifespan, temperament to almost every weapon; their bane only being fire. They will die when exposed for a long period of time, seeming to melt. They like cold places and will often bury themselves in snow, or hide out in snowstorms to wait for food. They rarely turn humans instead preferring to eat even if they touched them, so they have been known to eat their own kind.
