Forever Loved

I paced the floor of my bedroom in the Adoption House. I had been here for a while. I was ready to leave. Being in this dreadful place made me angry. Angry that my owner would abandon me here after being together for so long. In a way, I was afraid of being adopted, but on the other hand I was happy I was going to have a new home. After what seemed like ages I was called down to the meeting room. I was going to meet my potential owner for the first time. I walked down the stairs cautiously. I didn't know what to expect. In my mind I expected a man the size of a mountain, but what I saw was a young girl of 20 years with long, curly white hair and golden eyes. She looked at me and knelt down to look at me. She sat there and I walked up to her and sat down. I could tell she was kind. She lifted up her hand, and I cringed. My old master used to beat me before they abandoned me. Instead of being struck, I was being petted. The young girl was petting me and telling me that I was going to go to a much better place than where I was. She told me that I was beautiful, even though I had blood stains on my fur that would never come out. I licked her face and nuzzled her. I liked her very much. I was scared of where I would live and who would adopt me for so long, but now that I have a home, I can truly say that I am happy. I am happy and loved.
