my story;

THE refreshing breeze brushed against my brown fur delicately and the blazing sun beamed down just like a proud father. It was calm and peaceful, I was in the glade forest, playing with my best friend, B Dawg the terracoon. We were just mucking around, rolling with laughter all over the dusty floor. I felt on top of the world. I heard my mothers voice, 'StripesHammy, it's getting late, you should come back now!' I was about to leave when B Dawg suggested we searched for a shooting star. I was worried about what mother would think but he somehow managed to persuade me into it. I have to admit it was very relaxing and beautiful however, it became close to midnight, it was becoming cold and there were strange noises echoing around the trees. It felt like someone was watching us, someone evil. Then mother came into my mind. How worried would she be about me. She always said that at night there are dangerous animals around. At this point I was freaking out, screaming, chasing my tail and just being completely out of character. Again, B Dawg sorted it out and calmed me down. He does have such a soothing voice. I decided that I was heading home and I could hear disappointment in B Dawg's tone. Something was very peculiar about how eager he was to stay out. I wouldn't let him persuade me again, just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I'm any weaker. My mind was made up. I was heading home and there was nothing he could do about it. ----------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------'WANNA PLAY TREE RUNS?' B Dawg said in a scary but soothing tone. DAMN! He knows my weakness. With regret I agreed to play. Just as I was climbing up the starting tree I felt a tug at my tail. My heart skipped a beat. I turned round to see B Dawg tugging my tail. 'THAT REALLY SCARED ME!' I yelled as he giggled with a hint of evilness. Something was extremely suspicious...'Just go and climb up the tree B Dawg.' A few minutes later I felt another tug at my tail. (This tree was extremely tall) Again I looked behind, but there was nothing there except a rustle in the bushes. I just felt like screaming and speeding off back home but then what would B Dawg think of me? The words rang inside my head: Scaredy Popoko, Chicken, Girls are obviously weaker than boys. I managed to haul myself up to the top at lightning pace and get there before B Dawg. 'See girls can do things better than boys' I whimpered, trying to keep myself happy. The race started. I really wasn't in condition for a race but I had to finish it to get home. Just as I was about to leap onto the finish tree a hand with sharp claws grabbed my tail and stabbed a needle into me. The last image I had was of the orange killer, fire, burning down all the trees to smithereens. ------ --------------------------------------------- I don't know what day it was, or even what year, but I knew I'd woken up. I remembered a pherret creature rescuing me from the fire but nothing else. My eyes squinted as the bright light shone in my face. Wait...this is the glade forest. It was all a dream? I lifted my paw to my forehead as a sign of relief. It was green? All this isn't making sense. I swiveled round. My tail had dreamy flowers on it and all my fur was green, and it smelt fresh like grass. 'MOTHER?!' I shouted, breathing heavily. No reply, not even a sound. I saw a girl with sun red hair heading towards me. She looked loving and kind, but after all that happened, I couldn't be sure. She bent down gracefully and reached her arms out to me. I shuffled back cautiously. 'It's alright', she whispered, her voice as soft as the wind. She had a huge grin on her beautiful face. I crept forwards and she picked me up. It was surprisingly comfortable. We headed into the forest and came to a sparking river. There was a humongous Victorian-style house across it. 'This is your new home' she announced with pride. It was...nice but it wasn't like my old home. She took me across a bridge and into the house. As she opened the door and we were welcomed with 9 other animals making a racket. This unsettled me and the girl could tell. 'QUIET, YOU GUYS!' she shouted but still with a sense of calmness, 'This is our new household member, StripesHammy, treat her well. Oh, by the way, I'm Cat, a.k.a. Yoshidinodragon' she smiled. ------------ --------------------------------------------- I'VE been here a few weeks, and I'm starting to fit in. It's all a mystery but I found out that I'm in a rescue home and all the other pets have been through things like I have. Wish me luck! -------- Cat; my owner
