Personality

Beleth tends to be on the cocky side. He has a snobbish air about him, because he thinks heâ€™s better than just about everyone else. He has a bit of a prince complex as well, thinking he should be catered to and worshipped. Just as his looks let on, Beleth is a fiery individual. He has a spark, can be loud and in-your-face, and unpredictable.

He likes fire. He likes to light things on fire. And he likes to blow things up. Heâ€™s more fascinated on just how it looks, rather than the destructive nature. Beleth carries with him various amounts of flammable and explosive materials. He makes his own bombs, and other items that can come in handy in a fight. If he puts his mind to it, Beleth can perform extremely well under stress. He can diffuse bombs in his sleep. Of course, he wants something out of it, and whoever he saves better be grateful.

Recently Beleth has grown quite a bit with his attitude. Heâ€™s more caring, and it shows. He worried about the people heâ€™s with and has grown so attached to them that if he was to lose one, heâ€™d most likely shut himself off from the world. Beleth has problems dealing with things of that nature. He likes it when things are perfect, and when theyâ€™re not, itâ€™s easy to see now how frightened he is.

Beleth will still occasionally act like a prince, or a little cocky. But by now, itâ€™s mostly just a joke he uses to lighten the mood. In battle, heâ€™s also more open, trying to think of it like a game or something he can have fun with, to cover up his nerves. Heâ€™s not very strong himself, so he tries to prove himself worth keeping around.

History

Beleth was born in the north, a land of fire and magic. He was the youngest of two children, a prince of his people. His parents, due to a rising threat in their kingdom, were forced to send Beleth away a few months after he was born. He was sent to a village, far from his homeland and was raised by an elderly blacksmith. Beleth himself, knows very little about the trade even now, as he never cared to learn from the man.

When he turned thirteen, the blacksmith died, and Beleth would have been left on his own, if it was not for Orik, a knight who told Beleth he was to care for him now. He was a little confused at Orikâ€™s sudden appearance, as if he had been watching him this whole time, but he shrugged it off, and the two have been together for about four years. While Orik doesnâ€™t say much, he seems to put up with Belethâ€™s attitude rather well. Beleth on the other hand likes the fact that he can boss the other around without much fuss.

It was when Beleth started to wonder about where he came from, and his real parents, as well as just who Orik was, that the two met with other travelers. The first was a mage, Akares, who for a long while disturbed Beleth because he could not see very well due to a curse placed on him. And the other was Nithael, a warrior-in-training. Beleth and Nithael butted heads for quite some time, while it was obvious to those outside, such as Orik and Akares, that they cared quite a bit for each other.

Beleth never asked why Orik was with him, but a series of events would give him the answer anyway. Belethâ€™s parents sent Orik a message, to bring Beleth home finally. And so the four travelers headed north. There, Beleth found that he was a long-lost prince, something he had always dreamed of. He had everything that he ever wanted. And yet, when the three others were about to leave without him, Beleth had a change of heart.

He found he was not happy as a prince, and would have missed the others, Nithael most of all. And he apologized to his family, saying there was still things he needed to do and returned to his aimless travels with the people he cared about.

Shortly after that, however, Belethâ€™s world fell apart yet again, Nithael, angered and upset left the group with little word during the night and joined a rising army. This army had been growing in power and influence for months, and the group had heard of the demon who led the ranks, Xun, a man who seemed bent on ruling the world. Beleth felt betrayed, his closest friend, and the person he desperately loved had left them for the enemy.

It was at least a month before Nithael returned. Beleth, in that time, had barely ate or slept and hardly spoke a word to Akares or even Orik. It was easy to see his heart had been broken. Nithael returned to him however, sending him a message to meet in the woods as the others slept. There, Beleth all but collapsed into his arms and asked him never to leave again.

With the group whole again, they travel with two goals in mind: prevent Xun from harming the home Beleth barely knows, and save Akares from the curse that now has him completely blinded and could threaten his very life. Beleth does not mind how long or how much he has to fight, so long as he has Nithael by his side once more.
