Hello everyone. As you can see. they call me Appreciate. Well, do you want to hear about my past, or read about my future?I, Appreciate, was a Tigrean used for neighborhood fights. No, no, not those noble battles in the Coliseum, where you are well trained and have fine weapons and it's all in good fun - I, Appreciate, was used as an object, abused and made to fight others simply for the "entertainment" of humans. Did I fight well, you ask? Hmm, how do you think I got these wounds on my side? I was always starved, beaten if I didn't win, and caged after each fight. Nobody petted me, nobody tended my wounds.Then, one day, cramped and cold in my prison, I looked up to see a man wearing a jacket with what has got to be the most beautiful initials on the planet: HSUS. Yup, The Humane Society of the good ole' United States of America. I slunk back in my cage, not sure if this blue-eyed fellow meant me harm or good. With tears streaming down his face, he reached a hand out to me, gently petted my matted, filthy fur and slowly drew me out of that hellhole which had been my "home" for two long years.I lifted my eager nose and breathed in deeply of the sweet, blessed breezes. I am no longer that tortured, abused fighter. Call me APPRECIATE THE NEWBORN for that is what I now am and will forever be!Friends, please speak up against animal cruelty in all its forms!
