Youth, energy, talent - what more could a budding musician need? Well, as Melohdee was beginning to discover, talent, youth and energy, can only get you so far, no matter how many cups of coffee you drink, if you have a distinct lack of money.

She spent hours wandering around Subeta, asking all the shopkeepers if they would like her to play some background music while their customers browsed the shelves. They all seemed to like the idea, but her guitar playing, although good, wasn't quite up to the standard they would be willing to pay for. After the fourth day spent walking from shop to shop, Melohdee found herself standing in the rain outside the library. Rather than risk her guitar and sheet music getting wet, she decided to step inside the library and wait for the rain shower to abate.

As she stood in the entrance, a sign caught her eye:
Assistant Librarian required - apply within (good pay).

Although reading wasn't one of her key interests, she realised that her guitar playing wasn't going to be able to earn her any money, and with a new sense of determination, pushed the door open and set off in search of the Librarian.

Several months and various training courses later, Melohdee is a fully qualified Assistant Librarian. Although she does still dream of being able to earn money through her guitar playing, she's already earned enough to have some guitar lessons to improve her skill to a high enough level.
Most of her day is spent in the library, although she does get to visit various Subetan residents to check their library books aren't due for renewal. Looking down the list for today's book check, there's just one name on the paper: Ignotus.
