Kayley the jollin ran across the fair ground - huge ice cream cone in her paws. Suddenly, she tripped. Her ice-cream splattered all over the ground.

For a few seconds she just sat there, staring at her lost ice-cream. Then, she screamed. Tears rolled down her furry cheeks and she cried and cried. She abruptly stopped when she felt a hand on her back. Cautiously she turned to look behind her

Looking up she saw a man who smiled at her and handed her a balloon. Blinking Back tears she took the balloon and watched in amazement as the man pulled another balloon out of his pocket, blew it up and proceeded to twist it and shape it until it formed a dog!

The tears were well and truely gone now, she had forgotten all about her ice-cream.

The man gave Kayley a long balloon and showed her how to blow it up and knot it. He then tried to show her how to twist it. Kayley started twisting it and - POP- the girl was left with a straggly bit of rubber.
Did I do it wrong?
No, of course not sweetie, it just takes practice, here take some of my balloons, and this book on how to make balloon animals, and you can practice yourself at home!

So Kayley ran home and started practicing. She was down to her last balloon when she finally managed to create a shape. She was thrilled and so proud of herself. From that day Kayley bought balloons every chance she got, and practiced and practiced until she could make every animal - even if she went through several balloons before getting it right. She still goes through a few balloons most times before getting the shape she is after, but she enjoys it and others get a giggle out of watching her as well.
