Name: Itegami

Age: 200+

Location: The Icy Cave, at top of Ezofuji.

Story:

Is named after the Japanese god of Blizzard. He lived in a cursed Icy cave at the top of Ezofuji.Just above a small town called, Kami many of the villagers called him "Osoroshii Ryuu", though he wasnamed after a god. The villagers assumed him to be a bearer of bad luck, they seemed to be loosingrice crops and cattle since they had first known of his presence.

Unknown to the villagers, a young girl by the name of, Keisei, wandered to the Icy cave. She wantedto prove to the villagers that the dragon was not the source of misfortune. The cave was as dark as night, Keisei took cover of the brutal blizzard inside, she had known this waswhere the accursed dragon was meant to reside. However, there was no angry roaring, or thrashing. Therewas only the soft and soothing sound of deep breathing. Keisei assumed the dragon was sleeping, but shewasn't as safe as she first thought.

Suddenly several ugly demons appeared around her, every direction she turned there was one awaiting toattack, she was surrounded. She dare not scream, for fear of awaking the fearsome serpent that lay deepin slumber. For a split second, as all the demons made an assault on her, she thought this was the end.She prayed to the gods, her parents would take the news well, she prayed the demons to die at that moment. Her prayers seemed to go unanswered, until a ferocious roar could be heard from the inner sanctum of thecave. A harsh breeze of cold air rushed past them, sending shivers up Keisei's spine. She kept her eyestightly shut. As she heard the tearing of flesh and painful sounds of the demons.

Soon the sounds died down it was time to open her eyes. Her eyes where greeted with a lush white coat, the dragon was huge his head only just missed the caves ceiling. A light blue main reached from his head to his tail, it danced gracefully in the icy wind. His long whiskers swirled in all differentdirections before ending just past his back legs with a tiny curl. She stared in awe at the beautifulcreature.

But her moment of fascination was broken when the dragon's ice cold stare found it;s way to her. Shejumped and tensed herself. The dragon stared at her for a long moment, it seemed to be studying her,It didn't look like it was wondering what she was. But it looked somewhat confused at her presence.Without hesitation the dragon made a move for her. She tried to run, but the dragon's huge jawsmanaged to clamp into the collar of her kimono. A wave of panic rushed through her, she tried to hitthe beasts nose but to no avail. She covered her face with her hands and wished she hadn't come to thishorrible cave. A sudden crackling attracted her attention, she looked up to see a fire burning brightlyin the center of a cavern at the end of the cave. The dragon set her down in front of it, she looked backup at it. The dragon showed no signs of malice or anger, it was just blank. It made it's way to the otherside of the fire and lay down. Keisei was unsure of what this dragon was trying to do, was he trying to warmup his snack, or just keep her warm. It was too cold to return home without perishing on the way. So, shehad no choice but to trust this beast.

For many years after that, Keisei continued to visit the dragon that had saved her life that night, longinto her early adult hood she traveled up the mountain in spite of the unbearable climate. Soon the villagersbegan to talk, and Keisei became rather an outcast, the villagers assumed her to be a familiar of the dragon.Something had to be done about this beast, and the villagers prayed for a miracle. It wasn't long after this, that a dark cloud had appeared around the tip of Ezofiji and the sky above the town grew dark. The villagersfeared that Kami would be attacked by hoards of demons. But as long as they waited demons never set foot ontothe village and soon the sky became clear, as did the tip of Ezofiji. Confused at the sudden change in conditions. The villagers made their way up to the Icy Cave, where they found a massacre. Demon bodies and blood everywhere. But no dragon in sight, Keisei lead the villagers deeper in to the cave. But instead of a dragon, there was asculpture, and Ice sculpture of the dragon. Itegami had been frozen himself while defending the demons come toattack the village. The villagers weeped in sadness and gratitude the very creature they despised, has saved theirvillage from destruction, and died along with them. The villagers enshrined the dragon in his cave, and built astatue at the entrance of their village.

To this day, the villagers of Kami hold a festival each year and pray to Itegami for good luck and protection fortheir village.
