One of the great forces of the world, Metrion is the patron of fire in the mysterious world of Subeta. He wanders the rocky slopes and treacherous terrains of the volcanic chains of Shadowglen, the only place he can call home. His early attempts to find company outside of that forsaken place too often resulted in disaster and grief and so he swore to himself to never part with the lava rivers and the fire spewing crests, merciless with the world, but so accommodating of him.
Living and breathing amongst the powerfully magical fumes brought along unexpected changes. At first they were only minor, but in time, they made him one with that world. When magma moved underneath the earth's crust it was as if his own blood boiled in his veins. Sometimes the power that the living earth infused him with was so great, his paws caused earthquakes and tremors as he ran across the deserted, fuming plateaus.
...There was once a legend among the Ji-Meneb people that said in the depths of the volcano mountains lived the spirit of a wolf-like creature that let out gut churning roars and howls whenever an eruption or tremor drew near. They called it the Hell Hound .
