alchemy Restless Sleep taunts the bright

Frenzied and frantic hands scatter papers all about the room. "NO!" He yells as a pencil and notepad are tossed into the fireplace. "why? why can't I get this?" He begins to pace the room, mumbling to himself. all of a sudden he stops. Eyes a wide as dinner plates, he rushes to his table and under fevered breath and sweaty brow, mixes the elixir together. Watching and waiting when suddenly a putrid stench fills the air smoke begins to bellow from the crucible. He tries to escape but falls to the floor gasping for air.A few hours later he awakens, reaching to his head to feel for any lumps, he notices his flesh falling from bone, yet no pain to speak of.The elixir that was supposed to restore life seems to have taken his from his body. He stands and calls for his dog. a slight whine and he sees him crawl from under the bed. Flesh and fur falling as he walks. "you poor thing! I will fix us!"The once bright and glorious scientist, now hides in safety of his cottage in the woods searching everyday to find a cure for this graveyard effect.
