Background:
Sunglance is a bard of the Guild of Messengers, an ancient and well respected institution that collects and spreads news and information throughout the lands without charge, except that one may offer them food and shelter in return for their service. A full member, usually travelling alone, holds the rank Araldo, which translates to 'herald'. In addition they can be adept in a number of professions, including but not limited to bard, dancer and acrobat as well as warrior and ranger. They never dabble in politics however, remaining neutral to all parties.
'You may not harm me, body or mind, it is law.', is a sentence one might hear from an Araldo if faced with would-be enemies, and in most situations it will work like a charm. No one would risk the wrath of his powerful guild, not to mention that everyone profits from their work, that has built an information network the likes of which have yet to emerge.

Personality:
When at work Suglance is 100% professional, focused and concentrated. He takes pride in his office and that duty means a lot to him. He does however know that one cannot work day and night and having fun is just as important to him. He loves good company, being entertained and entertaining others in return and to just have a good time. He can often be found in popular middle-class establishments, bars and taverns, spending time with the local folk. He never backs away from a challenge, feeling an urge to test out his limits again and again. He can be solmn and responsible though, if the situations requires it. His occupation prevents him from forming long lasting relationships, but he doesn't mind getting as close to people as their short time together will allow.

Dislikes: people who are all-work and no-fun, ignorance, stupidity

Abilities:
He plays the harp and lute, as well as a few other instruments but those two are his favorites. He is a talented singer and song writer and composing balads of any kind is a passion of his. He can remember what people told him almost word for word, if he puts his mind to it and listens intently.
He carries a staff made of oak that serves him as an improvised weapon which he's quite skilled at, but those of his trade his trade don't usually have to fight, though Sunglance makes an exception for good natured bar fights and the occasional wrestling match, if on a dare.

Past:
Sunglance is not his real name, but one that he has earned in younger years. He seems to prefer it over his original name which he stopped using altogether. He doesn't talk much about his past, but he was apparently a son of wealthy, possibly aristoratic parents, but whether he left them in peace or argument is unknown.
