Accursed phoenix. You flaunt your fabled immorality with no care whatsoever... so easy for you to rise from the ashes of your own destruction.

What do you think of we "mere mortals," oh great phoenix? Are we as insects to you? Flies crawling helplessly over the surface of the world?

Don't speak to me of the great mysteries of life. They are nothing but empty words from you, arrogant bird. You were born eternal; I had to claw my way back from the grave, fighting for every inch!

I mastered death itself! I died, and found my way back. Now I will never die. I earned my immortality, and you... you know nothing of want, or desperation, or despair!

But I suppose you can be of use to me, yet.

I live, but not fully. It is not the sort of life I once had. This body does not age, but there is something... lacking. Vitality? Warmth? I do not know.

Perhaps, in you, I may yet find some answer to this lack.
