Hydralisks are noted as the most fierce of the Zerg strains. They burrow into the ground and lie in wait for their prey. Once in range, they pop up from their hiding place and viciously attack, decimating their enemies. They most commonly attack from a distance with spines that are located under their carapace plates. These slightly poisonous armor-piercing spines have the ability to penetrate 2cm into even the most durable of steel. They are also known to be approximately 33mm in length and can travel up to 300m at high velocity. This is due to the Hydralisk having over 4,000 muscles.

This creature belongs to the Zerg. The Zerg are arthropodal aliens which are terrifying to any civilization that they come across. They have the ability to mutate into many forms from one basic unit, the larva. These forms range from what seems to be living building structures, basic slave creatures, and to the most ferocious attackers. They are dedicated to the pursuit of genetic perfection which makes them relentlessly hunt down and assimilate advanced species across the galaxy, incorporating useful genetic code into their own. The Zerg are linked and controlled by the Overmind. The Zerg possess regenerative capabilities, multiply at an alarming rate, and do not die of old age.
