• Born sometime in the 16th century, though he can no longer recall any more specific details.

• Gancanagh are akin to siren, in so much that they're skill set is aimed at a variety of emotional manipulation tactics; usually ranging from pity, guilt, seduction, or obsession. This can be achieved directly (ex: helpless child, flirting, etc.) or indirectly (ex: songs or written words woven with glamour).

• Like all fae, he is incapable of directly lying and is vulnerable to anything made of iron. He is exceptionally skilled at twisting or dodging truth.

• Over the centuries he's been a published author, several times over, under a variety of different names and different genres; this includes poetry, romance novels, hinted at having a rather successful go at playwrighting once upon a time, and macabre short stories. Not all of works were coated in glamour; it became a bit of a game to him to see if he could write well enough to manipulate people without forcing them.

• At some point he got bored of life and fell into wanderlust, spending a couple decades seducing people into paying for his escapades. Eventually got bored of that and seduced people to support his vices (mostly heavy drinking); this particular habit is how he met his future boss, Freyja.
— She was passing through the town while returning from an assignment, and stopped by that bar by chance. She ended up falling for his glamour flirting, bought him many rounds of drinks before he became too drunk to hold the glamour and thus exposed himself.
— In retaliation she threatenedconvinced him, while he was in a drunken stupor, to sign employement documents for the society she worked for and to swear a binding oath to join their ranks. He was belligerently very irate about it for months.

• Eventually he was moved from field work (turns out seduction was great for getting people to tell him everything he wanted to hear regardless of it's validity) to the office based R&D department, where he was remarkably skilled at determining which leads were promising and which were faux.

• At some point he got tasked with teaching Chester, a new hire with a life full of maltreatment, how to function. An endeavor that began with a lot of vacant looks, lack of comprehension, muttering about living shadows, and finding Chester wedged into small spaces while clutching a flashlight for dear life. Eventually this lead to some kind of codependent relationship based off the need for attention vs. fear of abandonment but most friends consider it healthier than any alternative.
