I was on a walk through Veta Lake and decided to stop at Adopt R Us and check on the animals, I brought some treats for them. When I went into the building, Amy the lady at the desk, welcomed me. "Hi, ChinaMina." she said in a sad way. "What's wrong Amy?" I asked her. "It's...well, just follow me." she said. I followed her into a dark room. I heard coughing, and it wasn't normal coughing, it was bad coughing. "What's going on Amy? Who is that?" I asked a little worried. " That's MoonlightStars. She's a Darkonight." Amy said sadly. "Well, what's wrong with her? Why hasn't anybody adopted her? And why is she in this dark room all by herself?" I asked. "She is very ill. No one wants her. And Darkonights like dark rooms at night, and we don't have any other Darkonights, and no other pets are in there because she's ill, that's why she's all by herself." Amy said. "But why does no one want her?" " Because, some fear that if they adopt her that she will pass away a few days after, others want nothing to do with sick animals, and still others hate Darkonights and think their ugly." she said angerly." But it's not night time." I said confused. "I know but what I meant is that they like a dark room when they sleep and they normally sleep at night, but she is sleeping now." said Amy. " Oh.... so people are taking care of her?" I asked. "No, she's being put down tomorrow afternoon." she said meanwhile heating a bottle of milk in a microwave for an animal. " What, no! But can't they just..." "I'm sorry but it's already been done, the appointment is going to be tomorrow at 3:00.There's nothing else they can do." Amy interrupted. "Well can I at least spend time with her until her time is up?" I asked. "Alright, and luckily the illness is something that humans can't get, but don't bring her home, we don't want Iceilan, Raphaello, or Sparkay to catch it. You should probably just stay here. But remember to wash your hands." she told me. " Ok I'm totally fine with that." I said. I approached MoonlightStars slowly so I wouldn't scare her. I sat down next to her. She looked up at me in a scared way, and wouldn't talk. "Here" I said giving her a little treat. She ate it really fast, and must have been hungry. I think she started to like me, and I started to like her. After my visit with MoonlightStars was over, I was ready to go home, but when I was trying to leave, MoonlightStars tried to follow me, but I told her "no, stay. Then I walked out of the building, to my house. " I just wish there was something I could do." I said starting to cry. When I got home, it was noon, and everyone was hungry but they saw I was crying. "What's wrong mom?"asked Iceilan. "Oh it's just...as you know,I went to the Adoption place, and their was a Darkonight and the doctor is going to put her down tomorrow at 3:00." I answered. Just then, the doorbell rang. First I pulled myself together, then I opened the door. It was Sparkay, I hadn't even noticed she had been gone. "Hey, mom. Guess what! I got you a gift! I know how you collect potions and elixers so, I got you a..." "Demi Elixer! Sparkay, you didn't have to do that!" I interrupted. " Oh it wasn't just me, all of us pitched in. Raphaello had the money, Iceilan had the idea on what to buy, and I bought it." Sparkay said. " Oh you guys...and girl, thank you so much. Wait I have an idea!" I said. "You make us lunch?" Iceilan asked. "No that's not my idea, but yes I will make you lunch." I said. After lunch, I went back to Adopt R Us. " Oh, hello, what are you doing here again ChinaMina?" Amy asked. "I had an Idea." I grabbed my pack and looked through it until I finally found it, my Demi Elixer. "What about it?" asked Amy. "Let's have MoonlightStars drink it." I said. " And then what? Have her put down as a Demi? How is that supposed to help MoonlightStars ?" Amy kinda yelled. "I don't know, but don't you want to take the chance that we could save her?" I asked. "Well yeah." Amy said "Then let's do it!" I yelled. I ran into the dark room. MoonlightStars noticed, she ran up to me and meowed. She was begging to be petted." Open up." I said. She didn't know why I wanted her to open up, but she did. I put the Elixer in her mouth, and she swallowed. Then she started to glow, she floated up into the air, then her shape changed, she then slowly floated down to the ground. MoonlightStars was now a Demi. "MoonlightStars? You ok?" I asked. "Yes....HEY! I CAN TALK AGAIN!!!WHOOHOO!! Sorry, I'm just excited that I can finally talk to you and that I'm not coughing anymore." MoonlightStars said "YOU SAVED HER!" yelled Amy. "Um...Chinamina? Will you...adopt me? I'm not sick or contagious anymore." asked MoonlightStars. "She's right, she isn't contagious, so if you want you can adopt her." Amy informed me. "So do you?" asked MoonlightStars. " Yes. I do." I told her. "Yay!" yelled MoonlightStars. "Let's bring you home and tell everybody." I said " Or you can just call them and tell them from here." said Amy. "Ok." MoonlightStars and I said together. So we called home, and Sparkay picked up, we told her the story, and she told the boys the story. Then we went home and and decided to go to a fun place for dinner. So when dinner time came we went to Pete's Diner, then for dessert we went to The Bake Shop and ordered a cake and asked her to put "Hooray for MoonlightStars!" on it.Then when it was finished we all got a slice of it and dug in. That was the beginning of a new friendship for all of us, including MoonlightStars.
