My Story....
Alone frozen MournfulOnce, a long time ago, before the panama canal was even thought of, a zoo was being transferred to America from the Northwest territories in Canada by boat. The zoo that was being transferred consisted of snakes, zebras, gorillas, and tigers. A family of tigers, to be exact, a female, her mate, and three cubs. The task was simple right? Get the zoo from point A to point B by boat, easy as pie. It was easy...... Until the boat(Due to three drunken sailors) hit an iceberg and sank. But, luckily, the tiger family managed to get free of their cages and into a life boat. They floated for a while, but then the cubs started to shiver. The mother worried about them freezing. So, the father got out and pushed. He swam and pushed for a long time. When the mother finally saw land on the horizon, the father slowly floated downward into the abyss. The mother wailed, but knew that would do nothing, she had to get out and push now. and she did until they finally hit land. When she went to get her cubs out of the boat, one was frozen, he had died of the cold. She mourned in her mind while she took out the other two. But, she could only carry one in her mouth, so she alternated carrying the cubs.... They began to slip fast. If she could find shelter, maybe that would help. But there are no shelters on ice. So, she dug her own. She told the cubs to huddle together to keep each other warm while she dug, they did as they were told. When she was done she looked back to where they lay and found yet another cub frozen, his sister's heat was not enough. She carried her last cub into the ice/snow shelter and covered her up with her body. she told her they would be okay, her brothers were just playing with daddy somewhere nice, she'd be okay. It was too late though, she died slowly, huddled against her mother's chest. She buried them all, she didn't want them to become polar bear fodder(Even though they would anyway). Only after all of the cubs were buried did she relize that they were gone. Her whole life was gone. She was alone. For awhile, she went crazy for a bit, talking to herself, pacing. But, the crazy moved on in a while taking her warmth with it. She lived off of polar bears, the weak and cubs because a healthy full grown polar bear would've eaten her. It wasn't like she cared, she had nothing to live for, she wanted to die, she hated her existence. With those thoughts constantly in her mind, her heart froze. Miraculously, she didn't die. The block of ice her heart was encased in, allowed it little room, but it still beat.
Even today, her heart is still frozen, but she lives off the ice now. Some polar bear researchers found her and took her to a lab, and over time, she escaped that too. Now, she lives wherever she can find a home. Usually old ladies that give her her own room, unfortunately, no matter how high she turns up the thermostat to, her heart remains frozen in a block of ice.
