Definition - A new form or manner
A soft voice emanates from the medical tent.
"Next please."
You cautiously make your way into the tent, lifting the dirty brown flap of an entrance. Other animals lie on cots, not moving in the hot, stagnant air. You swallow hard, the smell of inescapable death surrounding you instantly. As you walk through the narrow dirt pathway, dodging various medical instruments, you are greeted by a brown bunny, carefully sanitizing the instruments she used on her last patient.
"What seems to be the problem?" You open your mouth to speak, but stop, embarrassed.
"I- My hand hurts." You finally stutter, blushing at how insignificant your problem is compared to some of the other animals in the tent.
"Does it? Don't worry, it's probably nothing. Let's go take a look over here." Her voice cheerful, but soothing, reassures your safety. She leads you over to an empty cot and gently pushes you down onto it. Carefully taking your hand into hers, she lightly touches it a few times, testing for injuries. Wincing, you take a sharp breath.
"Oh dear, I'm sorry. Are you okay? Here, have a lollipop!"
Before you can even nod your head once to confirm you are actually fine, she gently but firmly shoves a Pumpkin Lollipop into your mouth while still keeping your hand gently clasped in hers.
"Let's bandage that arm. It's probably just a sprain. How did you injure it?" She lightly places your arm by your side and turns around to rummage for a bandage.
You fell yourself turning ever so slightly red as you mutter to her, "My- my friend and I were climbing around Peka Glade. I fell into the water." You cast your eyes off to the side, wishing desperately you had turned Glade when you fell into the water so at least something tangible had come out of it. You catch sight of your Dawn color, a shameful reminder of your failure.
She smiles and an almost inaudible giggle escapes her, snapping you out of your daze as you feel your ears turning even more red. "Oh, honey... Dawn is a gorgeous color There's nothing to be ashamed about." She continues to compliment your colors and physicality as she bandages your arm.
"Okay, try not to do anything straining for six weeks, alright?"
"Yes ma'am!" You hurry out of the tent, a little more reassured that perhaps, just maybe, Dawn was an okay color. Removing the lollipop from your mouth, you walk back home.
