ChubberWubz has a minion!

Clued the Turvy

There was once a small tutani who lived in a spectacular kingdom in a secret location underwater in Subeta. The tutani's name was ChubberWubz, and she was loved by all. One day, when she was playing with her friends, a sudden storm arrived. The storm was unlike anything anyone had ever seen in Subeta before, and ChubberWubz and her friends, though excellent swimmers, struggled to navigate the stormy waters. ChubberWubz was seperated from her friends and pushed towards the mainland. As she approached the land, she saw a young kora suddenly whisked away into the sea and from his friends. His friends were shouting but were unable to do anything. With great determination, ChubberWubz dived underwater and grabbed him. The kora wasn't heavy, but the stormy waves hampered the pair's path back to the mainland. ChubberWubz finally managed to get back to the shore and placed the kora, who was unconcious, on the beach. She'd never seen a creature like him before, and was wondering when she heard a shout and saw other pets running down the beach. Startled, ChubberWubz dived under the water to avoid detection. When she returned home, everyone asked her what had happened. They were all intrigued by her story, especially one of the elders. He later took ChubberWubz aside and told her, "The surface world is mostly unknown to us underwater beings. Their customs are much different from ours." His words sparked a desire in ChubberWubz's heart to know more about the surface world. From that day on, she would constantly wonder about the world above...and the kora she had met.

One day a terrible earthquake shook the peaceful underwater world to its toes. Many buildings crumbled to bits and frightened citizens scurried for cover. After everything had settled, the leaders gathered at a castle to discuss this sudden turn of events. During the discussions, the same elder who had told ChubberWubz about the world above rose.

“Friends,” he spoke solemnly, “many of you were no doubt terrified by the recent earthquake in our kingdom. This earthquake was unlike anything most of our citizens have experienced in their lifetime. Unfortunately, I must say that more trouble is to come.”

All the leaders began gasping and murmuring among themselves. The elder continued, “Some time ago, I discovered an ancient text in the Mystic Library. The text spoke of a time when our civilization would be brought to the brink of extinction. There is a story about a dark force created by an unnamed mysterious being. Apparently the dark force's purpose is to turn the Melody Core against the well being of our civilization. The influence of the dark force would cause several natural disasters that would damage the Aura. Once the Aura had suffered enough damage, some of the dark force would enter the Melody Core and attempt to infect it. If the infection is successful, the dark force can use the Melody Core to control our entire civilization and ultimately plunge it into darkness. After the earthquake, I immediately checked in with our Harmony Defense to see if the Aura had somehow been damaged as a result of the earthquake.”

The elder paused, and everyone held their breath to see what he would say next. After several seconds, the elder spoke again. “There was a small skinny crack on the left side of the Aura’s base.”

Everyone gasped. The elder held up his hand and continued, “I believe that the earthquake was the first natural disaster foretold by the text. There will undoubtedly be more natural disasters, but we must not panic. To avert the fate foretold in the text, several special items must be collected to heal the Aura. Once those items are connected with the Aura, the darkness plaguing the Melody Core will be dispelled and our land will be peaceful once more.”

Later that evening ChubberWubz received a message telling her to come to the underwater castle. When she arrived, she found the elder that had told her about the surface world.

“Chubberwubz,” began the elder, “I recall that you had an experience in the surface world. Have you ever wondered about what life is like up in the surface world?”

Chubberwubz nodded. The elder smiled and stated, “Many of the creatures down here, including me, have also wondered about the surface world. Today, you have the chance to discover what that world is like.” The elder’s face frowned and he continued, “I am deeply sorry that such an opportunity must be under such dire circumstances.”

The elder then told Chubberwubz about the potential danger threatening their underwater world.

“But,” gasped Chubberwubz as her mind reeled from what the elder had told her, “What does all of this have to do with me?”

The elder answered, “You must travel to the Surface World and gather the items we need to restore the Aura. There is one more thing. In order to achieve your mission, you must take a new form. The Surface World mainly consists of air, not water, and air does not work well with many underwater beings. So you need a body that will accept the air of the Surface World with ease.” The elder held out his fin and revealed a potion. “Chubberwubz, swim to the surface of the sea and ingest this once you reach the surface. It will turn you into a land creature. Remember, our entire world is counting on you. Good luck!”

Chubberwubz left the castle and began to swim to the top of the ocean. Once there, she swam to land and swallowed what the elder had given her. She soon fell asleep.

When ChubberWubz woke up, she was surprised to find herself in a small cave covered with moss.

“Well, now! You’re finally awake!” went a strange voice.

Chubberwubz jumped up and turned around to see a creature she had never seen before in her life. The being had features similar to an ontra, but it was dressed in a rather strange manner. The ontra was dressed in a sailor suit and had a blue bowtie around their neck.

“Are you okay? I found you lying on the beach, and your fur was totally drenched! Are you a shipwreck survivor or something?” asked the ontra.

At hearing the word “fur,” Chubberwubz looked at her body and saw that had been transformed into a small Chai. Now aware of her transformation, Chubberwubz wasn’t sure how to answer the ontra’s question. What were the chances that the ontra would believe that she was from an underwater world? So the chai simply told the ontra that she was from a faraway land and had been forced to swim to shore after a shipwreck. The ontra offered to help Chubberwubz find a place to stay.

Chubberwubz quickly discovered that life on land was a completely different beast compared to life under the sea. The chai wound up employed at a diner, and her days soon became filled with the frenzy of serving hungry patrons. Chubberwubz’s thoughts would occasionally drift to the mission the elder in her underwater home had given her. The items that were needed to save Chubberwubz’s beloved home were scattered far and wide across the land, and the chai was unsure of how much time she had before her underwater home was completely destroyed by the foretold disasters.
