Miscellaneous Short Ferret Stories:

Costello likes to walk/run around with a blue magazine bag over his face sometimes. He came up with that game all on his own.

Mittens got her head stuck in a toilet paper roll once.

Nala liked to chew the faces off of rubber ducks.

About a month after getting Abby, she tried to jump to the top of the cage from the litter container (a jump a ferret cannot make because of the vertical distance). She ended up hitting the cage box side, arms spread-eagle like a cartoon.

Fubar once managed to steal both a bag of Hershey's Kisses and a big package of pads. He stashed both bags in the living room closet (still unknown as to how he got the 4in x 8in x10in still mostly intact package of pads in there through a 1.75 inch gap between the door and the floor). My mom later opened the door to find about 5 of Fubar's 'babies' perfectly centered on a pad, with a Kiss perfectly centered in front of each, and the ferret passed out on his back on the remaining pads (each baby was a furry ball). After asking me and my brother, she figured out Fubar was the one responsible for arranging his 'babies' like that.

Mittens and Nala liked to ride the vacuum cleaner when it was on. They attacked it when it was off.

Shadow honked a lot when we first got him. You could touch him, pick him up, or set him down and he would honk.

Bandit dislocated his elbow twice. The second time was the night he got the cast off from the first time. Apparently, there is more than one way an elbow can be dislocated because the vet said this time it was a better dislocation and she could leave it be.

Houdini could escape from any normal ferret cage, so we had to put a lock on each of the cage doors to prevent him from escaping. And by lock, we mean a bicycle lock that was not spring-loaded.

Romeo once brought a chicken nugget into my mom's negligee drawer and set it on her only silk one. She never could get the grease stain out.

The night we brought Bandit home, Bandit was draped over my brother's leg on the floor while my brother was setting up the cage for Bandit. We had to set up another cage because Devil was not going to get along with Bandit. While Bandit was over the leg, Devil walks nearby so they are a couple of feet apart, then Devil stops and looks at Bandit. Bandit immediately looks back at Devil and hisses, then looks up at my brother and whines like he is being picked on by Devil. Bandit does this a couple of times before my brother says "If he goes after you, I am SO not saving you." (Bandit stopped after that, and Devil did not try to pick on Bandit for the rest of the night)

Bandit liked to chew on pop cans.

Shadow liked to chew on tennis balls. Did you know they make a squeaky-crunch noise when being chewed on by a ferret?

Shadow would pout by laying on the ground and sighing. If no one noticed him, he would move and do it again.

Minx screamed when she had finished her first bath/shower. My mom thought it was me, so she rushed into the bathroom. She was confused at first when I told her it was the ferret that screamed.

When the treat box was shook, Weeone would sometimes run in the wrong direction before realizing where it was coming from.

Weeone was incredibly stupid, but also a cuddle bum. He was always willing to cuddle, except for these two situations: he had to go to the bathroom, or he was picked up off the ground outside.
